Some differences in education between China & Singapore

It has been three days since I came to SRJC, and I've found some interesting differences in education methods between China and Singapore.
Firstly, schools in Singapore pay more attention to various activities. In PW, my buddy's class went outside to find the effects of modernization of some Malaysia place and then had a presentation to show what they have learned. It's very interesting and meaningful. By experiencing by themselves, students can learn more efficaciously. However, in China, students seldom have chance to go outside to study.
Secondly, Singapore students have more advanced technology. It's the first time I see a calculators with the function of drawing graph. Chinese students never use it while here everyone has one. Students here can use calculators during the exams, but in China, students have to calculate the answer by themselves in all the exams; sometimes students feel very tired to do such extremely complicated calculation.
The most interesting phenomena is that in Singapore parents don't care about children's performance in school as much as Chinese parents do. There will be a parents meeting in a few weeks in SRJC, but many parents won't bother to come. They think it's boring to have so many speeches. But in China, parents never feel enough of speeches; they take down every little points the principle said and talk about them endlessly to their children at home.
However, there are some things in common. Both of us have countless physics lessons, countless lectures to analyse the model essays and learn to write like that.
We should adapt to the differences and pay attention to the similarities in order to have a better study experience in such a different educational system.
