Today is the first day of my JC immersion.
Serangoon Junior College’s comely environment really impressed me at my first
sight of it. It was the hospitality of Singaporean students that left the
deepest impression on me.
My buddy has a tense schedule so we were always
in a hurry throughout the day. However, even during the rush to a tutorial room
or lecture theatre, he tried hard to make me familiar with the JC and
comfortable with the new surroundings. He kindly shared his notes and
worksheets with me willingly, otherwise I would be awkward during lectures and
tutorials.
His friends were as friendly as him. They
accompanied with me for lunch, breaks and moves. I have never been separated
out along with my buddy. I enjoyed the feeling of being a member of a class. They
asked me a lot of questions about China as they were so curious.
A whole mathematics lecture was spent just
teaching us how to use a calculator to sketch graphs and analyse them. I could
manage to do such work with a pen and scratch paper spending less time!
Nevertheless, I should also take the time that I wasted learning and practicing
the techniques into consideration. Why don’t I just take advantage of the
calculator? I cannot decide which way is better since I have not learnt
management.
I really look forward to more amazing
experience that the JXP will give me.
